East Minerals renamed Amigo Minerals as GPM Binh Thuan Ltd with 100% foreign capital is mining beach sand dunes with an average grade 0.5% heavy minerals. It has a processing plant with a capacity of 200ktpa of HMC which is one of the biggest in Vietnam. The main products are ilmenite, zircon, rutile and monazite. Sales are both in domestic and export markets like China, Korea, South East Asia, India, Middle East, Europe.
Ilmenite is prevailing, with a stable sulfate qualityand good quality zircon. A wet mining method by dredging ore is used and concentrating by spiral separators. Magnetic separation to produce a pure ilmenite concentrate and non-magnetic separation to produce a final zircon/rutile and monazite concentrates
